In case you didn’t know. 2020 COExperience, formerly the user group for Dassault Systemes CATIA users, is now an international conference with an audience that represents all aspects of Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE users including ENOVIA, SIMULIA, CATIA, DELMIA, EXALEAD, and more.
1. Adaptive is exhibiting in Booth #112
Visit our booth and see the latest in our Markforged 3D Printers and Creaform 3D Scanners , and get a demonstration of one of our 3DEXPERIENCE workflows that leverages the power the platform and hardware:
- Reverse Engineering – We will show you how we take a 3D SCan of a part, recreate the surface and prepare it for 3D Printing.
- Design for Additive Manufacturing – Using CATIA Generative Design, we will take a scan of a part, optimize its shape and surface, and use it to make a 3D Printed Part.
2. Adaptive is the exclusive sponsor of the 3D Derby! Did you sign up yet to race your car?
COE’s 3DDerby Competition is back! An attendee favorite, the format is similar to a Pinewood Derby, except the cars are not be made of wood – they are 3D printed! Participants’ can sign-up during their conference registration process and design their cars with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Designing a car can take as little as an hour of your time. All cars will be available at COExperience on April 26th!
Awards for both the fastest car and the best designed car will be given. Racing will take place and prizes will be awarded during COExperience.

Session #2166: Leveraging Additive Manufacturing offers a way to streamline the creation of inspection fixtures and tooling
Session Description: After production, parts are checked against tolerances to ensure their geometries meet specifications. This requires customized hardware in the form of CMM fixtures and go/no-go gauges. These fixtures must be rigid, precise, and conformal; as a result, they are typically machined or constructed from modular kits. Both options have their pain points: machining the complex surfaces of an inspection fixture is costly and slow, while modular inspection kits are less precise and take time to set up and take down.
Additive manufacturing offers a way to streamline the creation of inspection fixtures and keep valuable manufacturing resources focused on producing revenue-generating parts. 3D printed inspection fixtures are precise, conformal, and can be made with minimal skilled labor. Adaptive will demonstrate leveraging composite 3D printing provides sufficient strength and durability, resulting in long-lasting, reliable fixtures that do not require CNC bandwidth. 3D printing offers a way to prototype and iterate tooling designs before they go into final production, reducing costs and compressing the development time by an order of magnitude. Secondly, many tools themselves can be 3D printed out of composites.
